Breakout Box

A breakout box (or BoB) is a device that receives a multi-line cable input and individually presents the signal for each line. This proves to be a very useful tool in the testing or debugging of electrical signals as an engineer can verify the correctness of the signal on each line.

Some boxes have an LED for each line, which provides a simple reference to the presence of a signal. Other boxes have switches or jumpers, which allow the line to be reconfigured with ease.
